Investors from Løvens Hule (Denmark’s Dragons’ Den) strengthen Aakjaer Furniture in 2024

In August 2023, Nanna Aakjær walked down the famous stairs on the Danish TV show Løvens Hule (Denmark’s Dragons’ Den), where she shared her passion for traditional craftsmanship and her mission to make her grandfather’s name and designs known around the world.

Aakjaer Furniture - a Danish furniture brand recognized for its beautifully handcrafted joinery pieces - has since been significantly strengthened by the arrival of two new investors from the show. This marks a major milestone in the company’s journey and sets the stage for further growth and international expansion.

Since its relaunch in 2019, Intarsia Furniture has seen remarkable momentum in reviving the iconic 1950s furniture designs of legendary craftsman Jørgen Aakjær Jørgensen (1920–2008). After a period of liquidation, the company was brought back to life by Jørgen’s granddaughter, Nanna Aakjær Svendsen, who has continued her grandfather’s legacy with deep passion and dedication.

The two new investors, Louise Herping Ellegaard and Tahir Siddique, have now joined forces with Nanna Aakjær Svendsen by investing in Aakjaer Furniture - an important step forward in the company’s evolving story.
